Indian Wells Tavern
The name “Indian Wells” refers to Amagansett’s natural water wells, which were enjoyed by Indians passing through town on their way to and from Montauk. This is how Amagansett got its name meaning “a place of good water”. Not much has changed over the last several centuries as Indian Wells is still the best place to grab a cold drink in Amagansett. With a thirty foot long bar that flanks the whole right side of the restaurant, an open dining room and walls adorned with black and white photos of Amagansett’s storied past, owners Kevin Boles and Chris Eggert have created a neighborhood retreat. If every town had an Indian Wells Tavern, the world would simply be a better, friendlier place.
